"According to Oxford Languages, birds of prey are 'predatory birds, distinguished by hooked bills and sharp talons.' I have replaced the word prey with pray as the title for this painting. A yellow rubber duck, dressed as a pope, sits on a golden papal throne in a large gothic cathedral. Bird seed is provided on the red carpet for the three male cardinals that surround the throne."

Lame Ducks is a series of humorous paintings by Florida artist Kevin Grass featuring yellow rubber ducks. The ducks are used in literal meanings as puns or in plays on words. Rubber ducks have no gender and no race, so everyone can enjoy these images without feeling excluded. The paintings are meant to make you smile and enjoy a lighthearted side of contemporary art. They are painted with the same meticulous Northern Renaissance style detailing that I have become known for, yet show the smart-alecky side of my nature.
