"Duct tape was first invented by a female factory worker during World War II. It was originally called 'duck' tape because it was made out of a cotton duck fabric and repelled water like a duck's back. The duct tape loosely cradles the rubber ducks like a nest, creating a fun, playful image with dynamic movement."
-Kevin Grass
Lame Ducks is a series of humorous paintings by Florida artist Kevin Grass featuring yellow rubber ducks. The ducks are used in literal meanings as puns or in plays on words. Rubber ducks have no gender and no race, so everyone can enjoy these images without feeling excluded. The paintings are meant to make you smile and enjoy a lighthearted side of contemporary art. They are painted with the same meticulous Northern Renaissance style detailing that I have become known for, yet show the smart-alecky side of my nature.
