"According to collinsdictionary.com, foul play is defined as 'criminal violence or activity that results in a person's death' and 'unfair or dishonest behavior, especially during a sports game.' In this painting, the fowl, or rubber ducks, are attempting to play a flugelhorn, thus the title Fowl Play. The larger duck props the instrument up so that the other can blow into the mouthpiece. Two smaller ducks fly above, ready to depress the valve keys."

Lame Ducks is a series of humorous paintings by Florida artist Kevin Grass featuring yellow rubber ducks. The ducks are used in literal meanings as puns or in plays on words. Rubber ducks have no gender and no race, so everyone can enjoy these images without feeling excluded. The paintings are meant to make you smile and enjoy a lighthearted side of contemporary art. They are painted with the same meticulous Northern Renaissance style detailing that I have become known for, yet show the smart-alecky side of my nature.
