Lewis's new media contemporary art is created through the art of multi-layered photography where she explores the delicate balance between nature’s encounter with human behavior. She is intrigued by societies’ discarded materials, enchanted by the splendor of nature, passionate about change and it’s these elements that propel her creations.
The natural world’s vibrant colors, unusual shapes, and rich textures contribute to her endless photographic palette. To this palette, additional images are added such as abandoned plastic, paper, glass, graffiti, drought landscape, rusty metals, dilapidated structures and more. Strategically these various conflicting subjects are overlaid together, sometimes over twenty layers. Lewis begins with a digital extract and blends each layer. The end result is an explosion of elaborate colors into multi-dimensions that morphs into one image. By transforming photos into luxurious conceptual imagery, she evokes an alternative perspective of nature.
