Richard Lee, also known as Qing Li, was born on November 23, 1966, in Yan’an, Shaanxi Province, China. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts in 1988 and initially pursued a career in fashion design from 1993 to 2006.

In 2007, he transitioned fully into artistic creation, establishing studios in the renowned Beijing 798 Art District and Hei Qiao Art District. Dedicated to the exploration and innovation of contemporary art, he experimented with various materials and techniques, gradually refining his artistic approach. Over time, he developed three distinct and mature series of works, earning recognition from collectors and art enthusiasts.

In 2015, Richard immigrated to Los Angeles, California, with his family, where he continued his artistic career. Since then, he has actively participated in numerous professional art exhibitions and outdoor art shows across various cities. His work has garnered multiple awards from outdoor art institutions and has been widely appreciated by collectors.
