“Continuum grew out of an exercise where I was playing with a loop of wire. This loop fascinated me with the incredible energy it implied when I twisted it into different shapes. Once I had the shape that grabbed me, the trick was to freeze it and carve it into a finished form. The large version of this piece is quite imposing. I have a 10 foot version in my garden. The optical effect kind of defies the imagination. The eye is led into the piece drawing the viewer to places unknown. Please keep in mind that this can be fabricated in polished bronze, raw bronze that will patina or polished stainless steel. Each surface provides a decidedly different effect to each person’s taste.” -Michael Shewmaker
